Foods and Nutrition

The department of Foods and nutrition is one of the major departments in the Faculty of Home Science under the Professer Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University.

Besides being strong in the area of teaching,the department has developed a sound research and extension base making them an integral part of its activities. In outstanding quality of work carried out by the department.

  • B.H.S C (a Hons in Home Science with Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics)
  • M.Sc (H.Sc) (Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics/Community Nutrition)
  • Ph.D ((H.Sc) –Doctoral degree in Foods and nutrition.
  • PG Diploma in Nutritional Therapy-a course of one year duration.
  • Diet and Nutrition Counseling Center

The department has established linkages with reputed research institutes like National Institute of Nutrition (ICMR),Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI),NAARM, ICRISAT, Indian Grain Storage Management and Research Institute and other ICAR institutes like Directorate of Rice Research (DOR) to carry out collaborative research and undertake other programmes.
