Department of Human Development and Family Studies

The department of Human Development and Family Studies is one among the five disciplines of Faculty of Home Science, Acharya N.G.Ranga Agricultural University.The department was established in the year 1964.

Faculty profile:

The faculty members of the department are all doctorate and trained in India and abroad in the areas of life span human development, family studies, women’s studies and developmental assessment of normal and special children.

The academic functions of the department are to train students to be child care professionals, developmental specialists, intervention specialist, child and family counselors, programme executives in developmental projects.

The department offers the following regular academic programmes.

•   B.H.S c (a UG course in Home Science with Specialization in Early Child hood development Care and Education )
•   M.Sc (H.Sc) (a PG Course in Home Science with Specialization in Trends and issues in Human Development, Psychological assessment, Child Guidance and Family Counseling and Gender Studies)
• Ph.D. – Human Development and Family Studies                
•   Diploma course in Preschool Management.
