Department of Resource Management and Consumer Sciences

Resource Management and Consumer Sciences is one of the major departments in the in the Faculty of Home Science, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University. The department was established in the year 1964 and has grown into strong discipline by expanding its activities in multi-dimensions.

In keeping with the mandate of Agricultural Universities, the department’s activities encompass Teaching, Research and Extension.

Teaching:

This department originally started with the Undergraduate teaching in the year 1975,M.Sc programme was introduced.In 1995 it also started Ph.D Programme.At each level,the curricula aims at building confidence among students by equipping them with managerial abilities to utlize both the abundant and scarce resources available within and around them.

The department has well qualified teaching staff who are all doctorates and are trained inland & abroad in the areas of Consumer Education,Ergonomics,Computer Aided Interior Designing & Landscape Designing and Entrepreneurship Development & Management
